Have you ever needed to share a link with someone—or with the public—but only for a limited time? Maybe it's a temporary download link, a time-sensitive event URL, or a promotional offer that expires at midnight. Traditionally, once a link is posted online, it stays online indefinitely unless you manually go back and delete it. Link Pool changes that.
What Is Link Pool?
Link Pool is an exclusive feature available on the UtilityCollection Android app. It allows you to post links online for a specific duration that you choose—anywhere from a few minutes to several days. Once the timer runs out, the link is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers without any backups. Think of it as a self-destructing message, but for URLs.
How Does Link Pool Work?
Using Link Pool is simple. First, download the UtilityCollection app from the Google Play Store and create a free account using your email. Once logged in, navigate to the Link Pool section, paste the URL you want to share, and set your desired expiration time. Hit 'Post' and your link goes live instantly. Anyone with the UtilityCollection app can browse and access active links in the pool. When the expiration time you set arrives, the link is automatically purged from our database—no manual action required, no traces left behind.
What Data Do We Store?
Transparency is at the core of everything we build. For the Link Pool feature specifically, we store your login credentials (email and encrypted password), the links you post, creation timestamps, and expiration times on our secure servers. This is the only data we collect, and it is used strictly to power the Link Pool service. We do not store browsing history, device information, or any other personal data. We do not sell or share your information with third parties.
What Happens to Expired Links?
Once a link reaches its expiration time, it is permanently deleted from our servers. There are no backups, no archives, and no way to recover it. This is by design—we believe that when you set a timer, you mean it. The only exception is for reported links: if a link is reported by another user for violating our content policies, it may be retained for at least one week (or longer) to allow us to take appropriate action and cooperate with law enforcement if necessary.
Content Policies and Restrictions
Link Pool is designed for legitimate, lawful use. We strictly prohibit the posting of adult content, weapon-related links, links promoting illegal activities, or any content that violates applicable laws. If such content is found or reported, the offending account will be immediately suspended and the links will be retained for potential legal proceedings. We take these policies seriously to keep the platform safe for everyone.
Why Use Link Pool Instead of Regular Link Sharing?
Traditional link sharing—through social media, messaging apps, or forums—leaves a permanent digital footprint. Even if you delete a post, cached copies, screenshots, and web archives can preserve it forever. Link Pool is fundamentally different. Because the link data is deleted at the server level upon expiration, there is nothing left to cache or archive. This makes it ideal for sharing time-sensitive promotions, temporary access credentials, event invitations, or any URL that should not persist beyond its intended lifespan.
