At UtilityCollection.xyz ("we", "us", "our"), your privacy is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, usage, and your legal rights when you use our website and tools.
Website & Mobile (Local-First): UtilityCollection operates primarily under a "local-first" architecture. For the vast majority of our tools, we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal files or calculation data. Tools like PDF compressors, image converters, and calculators operate entirely within your device's memory (client-side execution). When you process a file, it is never uploaded to our servers, and session data is destroyed when you close the application or tab.
Mobile App (Cloud Services & Link Pool): Specific community features like User Accounts, Link Pools, Notes Cloud Sync, and Custom Conversion Cloud Sync require cloud synchronization to function. When you create an account, we collect and store your full name, email address, and an encrypted version of your password on our secure servers (powered by Supabase). When using the Link Pool feature, we store the links you generate, their names, creation timestamps, visibility status, and expiration durations on our servers. Links are automatically deleted upon expiration (available durations range from 1 to 5 days, as selected by you) without backups.
Temporary Cloud Storage (Notes & Custom Conversion): Our mobile application offers an optional cloud upload feature for the Notes tool and Custom Conversion tool. When you explicitly choose to upload your data using these features, the following information is temporarily transmitted to and stored on our servers:
This data is stored for approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, after which it is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers without any backups. Uploading is always user-initiated — you must explicitly tap "Upload" and confirm the action; we do not automatically sync or upload your notes or conversion units in the background. If you do not use the upload feature, your Notes and Custom Conversion data remains entirely on your device in local storage. We do not read, analyze, or use your uploaded content for any purpose other than providing the temporary cloud storage service.
Personal Data Collection & Telemetry: To provide community features, we collect necessary account information when you choose to register. We do not harvest, collect, or transmit any unnecessary Personally Identifiable Information (PII), device unique identifiers, or invasive application telemetry metrics. Your data is used exclusively to facilitate your chosen cloud features.
For features involving temporary cloud storage (such as Notes and Custom Conversion cloud sync), the uploaded content is treated as transient data, automatically deleted within approximately 3 to 3.5 hours, and is not retained or associated with your user profile beyond the temporary storage period. Additionally, when you save another user's Link Pool to your favorites list, we store a record of that relationship (your user ID and the saved pool owner's user ID) on our servers until you manually remove it.
To keep the core tools of UtilityCollection free for everyday use, we use third-party advertising services to serve ads across our platforms. On our website, we use Google AdSense. On our Android mobile app, we use Google AdMob.
Like almost all websites, we automatically collect basic, non-personally identifying information that web browsers and servers typically make available. This includes browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. We use this generic data solely to understand how visitors use our website and to monitor server performance.
To facilitate native functionality, our mobile application may request permission to access your device's File System and Photo Gallery (for selecting files to merge, convert, or compress). These system permissions are utilized strictly inside the local sandbox boundary. Your photos, files, and camera streams are processed instantly in memory and are never cached permanently, broadcasted, or relayed externally. Exception for Cloud-Synced Features: When you explicitly use the upload functionality in Notes or Custom Conversion, your selected data is transmitted to our servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS). This transmission occurs only upon your explicit action (tapping "Upload" and confirming) and is not automatic or background-synced.
For web users, because we do not collect or store user accounts, emails, or personal data to operate our tools, we inherently comply with strict data minimization principles. However, regarding the mobile app and third-party partners:
Law Enforcement: While we prioritize user privacy, the owner and developer reserve the right to disclose any information, including user-generated content from the Link Pool, to law enforcement agencies or government bodies when legally compelled to do so or to protect the safety, rights, and property of the platform or the public. We reserve the right to permanently delete restricted or reported records at our sole discretion, or to retain them for an undetermined period—ranging from one week to indefinitely—if necessary for ongoing moderation, legal actions, or requests by law enforcement agencies. We are not liable for any such disclosures made in good faith compliance with the law.
Data Security: Although we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. The owner, developer, and associated parties cannot be held liable for unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches that may compromise user data or user-generated links. Use the Link Pool and all other services at your own risk.
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not knowingly directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take necessary action.
All tools, calculators, and information provided on UtilityCollection.xyz are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any calculations, conversions, or file modifications performed by our tools.
Limitation of Liability: In no event shall UtilityCollection.xyz, its owners, developers, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages—including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, legal disputes, or business interruptions—arising out of the use or inability to use our website or tools.
